Musonata is an example of Polish breeding at its best. She is a Comet granddaughter with close up lines to Wielki Szlem on both the sire and dam lines, one of the best mare lines in all of Polish and Russian breeding. She is out of a daughter of the great imported Park Horse Champion *El Mudir, Halali Valkerie, giving her two of the principal sources of “trot” in our industry. Her sire, *Mustafar (Comet x Musailima) was one of the great unsung pure Polish breeding stallions ever imported to the US. Imported from Sweden in his early teens, he produced a small number of superior quality foals. He was the sire of the great Park and Formal Driving mare, Mustacatta; Mustabright, the dam of many time National Champion Houston; and Mustique, the dam of US National Champion English Pleasure Junior Horse, Movado MW. Musonata’s tail female line, the only non-Polish part of her pedigree, goes to early Crabbet breeding, with one line to Babson Egyptian, both of which include beauty and athletic ability.
